This strange and very rare model is the only half-automatic machine fitted with a “Triplex” carriage, which means that it has an additional Register (“Register IV”) like on the most evolved automatic models (20AT for example).

The “Register IV” is an “Accumulator Product Register”. As its name implies, it accumulates successive products. It may be connected or disconnected at will. There is no “Register V”, however, because the 20LT is not able to make automatic multiplications. In summary, we can say that this model is a 20L with an improvement that we find only on the automatic machines (as 20AT, 20ATZG, 20ATG, 20ATZG, 20BTG, 20BTZG).

The machine, presented here with the serial number #32028, is accompanied by an official document of “H.W. EGLI S.A.”, written with a typewriter and entitled “Directions for the Proper Use of the MADAS TRIPLEX 20LT Calculating Machine”. It is dated “Zuerich, 8/11/37”.
